PGR Mission for CPL Nicholas Paul Olson

with one comment

Today we rode with the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to Novato California to pay final respects to CPL Nicholas Paul Olson (22), United States Army, killed last month by an IED while serving in Iraq.

I counted 24 motorcycles plus a couple of cages.

During part of the ceremony I saw a biker approaching that I did not recognize (except he had an A.B.A.T.E. patch on his vest). He stopped and watched us for a moment, then turned and left. I don’t know if he was put off by us because he felt out of place or if he was overcome emotionally (which happens) but if he reads this, or if you have ever thought of joining us, next time PLEASE DO!

These are the only photos I had the presence of mind to take while we were there.

Also, thanks to Patrick and Wendy Moore for coming and joining us. Patrick is a Viet Nam veteran and he and Wendy live down the street from the school where the ceremonies were held. When they realized what was going on, they came straight over to offer their respects even though they didn’t know a soul there. Thank you!
